STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Discovering what’s happening, and where, on the campus of Tarleton State University just got easier.

Today, Tarleton’s online calendar debuts as a new, more user-friendly and effective format for sharing campus events and activities through LiveWhale Calendar. Accessible on the university homepage, www.tarleton.edu/calendar, the portal is designed specifically for use by universities, features the ability to share events via social media, and allows viewing on mobile devices.

“The new calendar software is much easier to use and administer than our previous system, offering features that make the Tarleton calendar more valuable to campus organizations and departments as well as website viewers,” said director of Web Services Daphne Hunt. “Instead of merely a list of Tarleton events, the new calendar platform allows us to better market the university by showcasing all the wonderful things that take place daily on our campus.”

A new, expanded keyword search engine allows users to find events by querying location, audience and category. Exact locations of events and directions are available via Tarleton’s CampusBird interactive map.

“LiveWhale produces a calendar that provides event details in a highly visual manner, enticing viewers to read specifics,” Hunt said, “which should help increase awareness of Tarleton events.”
