Can’t Build a Bonfire without Brush – Tarleton Puts Out the Call

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thursday, July 7, 2022

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — With Tarleton’s annual Homecoming celebration just a couple of months away, planning for the bonfire has already begun.

Local residents clearing brush may bring it to the Tarleton Agricultural Center from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 16 and Aug. 20. More than 200 man-hours will be spent stacking over 10,000 wooden pallets and brush to create the blaze.

The L.V. Risinger Memorial Bonfire is set for Friday, Oct. 28, capping a week of activities and leading to the Saturday football matchup with the University of the Incarnate Word.
