STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas teams with Tarleton State University to host a daylong conference Thursday, Nov. 14, in Stephenville. Bank president and CEO Rob Kaplan will share insights on the health of the local, regional and national economy with area bankers and business leaders.
The conference, part of the bank’s “Dialogue with the Dallas Fed” program, follows the October Federal Open Market Committee meeting. The FOMC is the branch of the U.S. Federal Reserve that determines monetary policy.
Roundtable discussions with business leaders and bankers will address regional economic opportunities. Tarleton students will learn about internships and full-time employment with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
“This is a unique occasion for Tarleton students and the university community to learn about the work of our nation’s central bank,” said university President James Hurley. “It gives us a voice in shaping monetary policy. And we’re fortunate to have Rob Kaplan participating. He understands how the economy and education are intertwined.”
The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas hosts similar events several times annually, focusing on issues specific to the region where they occur. Tarleton’s College of Business Administration and the Career Services Center are sponsoring the November conference.
