“Family Weekend is more than just an event; it’s a time for our Tarleton families to connect, celebrate and create lasting memories,” said Lathes Towns, Executive Director of Campus Life and Family Engagement as a part of the Division of Student Engagement and Success. “It’s about showcasing the Spirit of Tarleton State to our guests, family, and friends while strengthening the bond between students, their families, and the university. To foster a true sense of belonging in our Tarleton community.”

The weekend will kick off Friday with the first of three Ring Ceremonies, where future graduates will receive their class ring. The official Tarleton State Ring, designed by Tarleton State alumni, bears reminders of the campus and signifies loyalty and pride for the university.

Following this honored tradition, there will be events available for all ages. Money Smart Family Feud, a parent social, Alley Bingo, Casino Night and multiple screenings of the movie “Twisters,” are a few of the notable activities. In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Ballet Folklorico will also be featured in the Fine Arts Center Theater from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Multiple showings of “Twister” are available Saturday as well.

Breakfast with the Hurleys on the Trogdon House Lawn will begin Saturday’s festivities. Family Weekend celebrations will continue throughout the day leading up to the football game against Southeastern Louisiana.

A massage trailer, craft fair, family lunch, Create a Critter and Youth Sports Day are a few events available prior to the game.
