STEPHENVILLE, Texas — In recognition of the 125th anniversary of both Tarleton State University and the birth of Duke Ellington, Dr. Will Ford will direct the Jazz I Ensemble as they perform the Ellington/Billy Strayhorn version of “The Nutcracker Suite.”
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
The suite includes “The Overture,” “Toot Toot Tootie Toot,” “Peanut Brittle Brigade,” “Sugar Rum Cherry,” “Entr’acte,” “The Volga Vouty,” “Chinoiserie,” “Dance of the Floreadores” and “Arabesque Cookie.”
Admission is $10 for the general public and $5 for students.
