STEPHENVILLE, Texas—SSC Services for Education today made a long-term commitment to donate $30,000 to support scholarships for Tarleton State University engineering and engineering technology students.

SSC, Tarleton’s facilities contractor, has committed to give the university $5,000 each of the next six years. The donations will fund two student scholarships annually, one each in Tarleton’s Engineering and Engineering Technology departments.

SSC West Region Vice President John Lane presented the initial donation to Tarleton President F. Dominic Dottavio, who noted the successful partnership forged between the company and the university and offered thanks for SSC’s support of the school’s engineering students.

“This generous gift serves as a reminder of why we are here,” Dottavio said. “It is the perfect example to our students of the importance of paying it forward, allowing them to work toward achieving their academic and professional goals.”

Dottavio also pointed out the significance of the gift’s six-year term.

“This pledge from SSC through the year 2022 is a testament of the trust SSC has in Tarleton and that Tarleton maintains in SSC,” he said.

The donation was presented on Tarleton’s annual Day of Giving, a daylong campaign focusing on fundraising efforts specifically in support of students.
