Tarleton State University will guarantee scholarship levels to entering fall 2020 freshmen who graduate in the top 25 percent of their high school class.
Dr. James L. Hurley will be installed Feb. 28, 2020, as Tarleton State University’s 16th president during a three-day inauguration celebration that begins with an event for students the evening before and culminates with a gala Feb. 29.
Dr. Eric Morrow has been named dean of Tarleton State University’s College of Liberal and Fine Arts, effective Jan. 1. He has served in an interim role for the past year.
Dr. Kim Rynearson has been named dean of Tarleton State University’s College of Education, effective Jan. 1. She has served in an interim role since summer.
Dr. Sally Lewis has been named dean of Tarleton State University’s College of Health Sciences and Human Services, effective Jan. 1. She has served in an interim role since summer 2018.
Tarleton State University will close all facilities for winter break beginning Monday, Dec. 23. Campuses and other operations will reopen Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.
Tarleton State University this semester launched a partnership with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) to equip faculty across multiple disciplines with instructional skills shown to promote student motivation, learning and persistence. Faculty who satisfy the program requirements are awarded a nationally recognized Certificate in Effective College Instruction that is co-endorsed by ACUE and the American Council on Education.
Tarleton State University will confer more than 1,000 diplomas at fall commencement ceremonies Dec. 13 and 14 at Wisdom Gym on the Stephenville campus.
