Tarleton among leaders in CPA exam pass rates

STEPHENVILLE, Texas— Tarleton Texans know how to become excellent accountants. Recent Certified Public Accountant exam pass rates prove it.

Over the past year, Tarleton accounting students have compiled a 55 percent on the CPA exam, leading all but one program in the Texas A&M University System. That rate also puts Tarleton among the top-tier accounting programs in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Last quarter, eight more Tarleton students successfully completed their exams and advanced to Certified Public Accountant status.

“Our 100th graduate joined the CPA ranks in 2017,” said Keldon Bauer, chair of the Accounting, Finance, and Economics Department. “We’re moving quickly now toward our 200th.”
