COBA Enhancement Plan

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University’s College of Business Administration is getting a new look. A pedestrian quad will link the southwest portion of the Stephenville campus with the rest of the school.
In addition to throughways, the quad will include two pergolas large enough for student gatherings and occasional outdoor classes when the weather is too nice to be indoors. Tarleton will plant two oak trees for each one removed, and green spaces and plaza areas will enhance university aesthetics.
Approved by The Texas A&M University System in 2018, the project is part of a three-phase COBA enhancement financed by the Permanent University Fund. The PUF is an endowment created in 1876 by the Texas Constitution to support the A&M and University of Texas higher education systems. Funds received by Tarleton are restricted to capital improvements.
“Our goal is to create a top-tier College of Business facility for our students, faculty and staff,” Tarleton President James Hurley said. “Great learning requires great spaces — spaces that inspire, build engagement and create impact.”
Phases two and three will add learning and conference space to the existing building and enhance classroom and lab areas inside the facility.
