STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Daily presentations touting the value of studying English and foreign languages highlight Tarleton State University’s third annual English and Languages Week, Sept. 16-20.
Each day guest speakers share advice on entering the job market with English or language degrees or minors.
“Our goal is to show people how they can benefit from the skills learned through English and languages,” said Dr. Katrina Hinson, assistant professor of English at Tarleton. “Students can easily pick up a minor in English, Spanish or German that may open more doors for hem when preparing to enter the job market.”
This year’s event is aimed directly at English and languages majors and minors as well as students from all across campus who may be undecided.
“Input of faculty, staff, students and alumni in the previous three years has been very successful and we hope this year’s changes make our fourth year even better,” Dr. Hinson said.
Program presentations/panels run from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday in Room 118 of the O.A. Grant Building on the Stephenville campus.
