Farmer Named Finalist

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Dr. Tod Allen Farmer, Tarleton State University’s chief of staff, has been selected lone finalist for president of Weatherford College.
The Weatherford College Board of Trustees is scheduled to vote formally to hire Farmer on Friday, May 4, following the 21-day waiting period mandated by the state.
A Tarleton alumnus, Farmer became chief of staff to President F. Dominic Dottavio last August. Prior to that, he served as head of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
“Dr. Farmer has done an outstanding job as chief of staff,” Dottavio said. “A proven leader, he understands the traditional and emerging challenges of higher education. We take great pride in his selection, and look forward to strengthening the long-standing partnership between Tarleton and Weatherford College.”
Farmer joined Tarleton in 2006 following a successful career with the Springtown (Texas) Independent School District.
A graduate of Weatherford High School, he earned his associate degree from Weatherford College in 1988, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Tarleton in 1992 and a master’s of education in 1998. Additionally, he holds a doctorate of education from the University of North Texas.
