The event, titled “Resilience in a Changing World: Local Government’s Role in Emergency and Management Preparedness for Domestic Threats,” will convene experts to exchange knowledge and share insights on how to enhance local governments’ preparedness for emergency response.

The panel will feature speakers leading various North Texas agencies: Steve Sanford, Assistant City Manager and Chief of Police in Bridgeport; Derrick Majchszak, Chief Executive Officer of the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority; Trish Burwell, Executive Director of the Hood County Senior Center; Richard Mann, College Station Fire Chief; and Erika McComis, Argyle Town Administrator.

“In today’s world of uncertainties, public administration plays a pivotal role in the shaping of a more resilient future for our communities,” said Dr. Galia Cohen, head of the public administration department. “This is an opportunity to learn from best practices and develop invaluable connections with fellow professionals.”
