STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The Tarleton State University director of student counseling, Dr. Brenda Faulkner, received the 2019 Molly Gerold Human Rights Award from the Texas Counseling Association. The award will be presented Thursday, Nov. 14, at the organization’s Professional Growth Conference in Fort Worth.
The award is bestowed annually for contributions in one or more areas of human rights. It is named in memory of Molly Gerold, a counselor in the Northeast Independent School District in San Antonio.

Faulkner has received the Erath County Woman of the Year award, the Leader of the Year for Texas Trails Council-Boy Scouts of America award, and the Tarleton State University Enhancing the Student Experience award in her 27 years in the helping profession.
A Dublin resident, she holds a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctorate, all from Tarleton.
