STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University’s Purple Pride color guard captured first place Saturday at the North Texas Colorguard Association Independent A Championships at Coppell.
The Purple Pride topped teams from the University of North Texas, UT Arlington, Abilene Christian University and Rogue Lubbock.
The North Texas Colorguard Association was founded in 1993 to have a circuit based in Dallas-Fort Worth aimed at providing a band director-friendly environment with education-based competition. The circuit now has more than 100 competing units from winter guard and indoor percussion groups.
