STEPHENVILLE, Texas—The Tarleton State University Texan men’s basketball team is returning to the NCAA tournament following selection as the No. 4 seed in the South Central region Sunday evening.

To open the tournament, the Texans (22-7) will take on Fort Lewis (25-6) on Saturday, March 11, in Golden, Colo. This marks the eighth straight season the Texans have made the NCAA tournament and the 14th time in the last 16 seasons.

“This is what we’ve worked hard for all season long,” said head coach Lonn Reisman. “The South Central region is one of the toughest in the country, and it’s a tremendous accomplishment to make the NCAA tournament once again. We have a tough matchup with Fort Lewis who has had a great season, but I know our guys will be prepared. We look forward to the challenge.”

Colorado Mines is the No. 1 seed and will host the South Central Regional. Tarleton is one of five Lone Star Conference (LSC) teams in the tournament, with the other four teams all seeded on the same side of the bracket. No. 2 UT Permian Basin faces No. 7 Texas A&M-Kingsville, and No. 3 West Texas A&M plays No. 6 Texas A&M-Commerce. Colordao Mines will face No. 8 Arkansas-Fort Smith.

The Texans have won the last two South Central Regionals and have won an LSC-record four regional titles in program history.

The Texans head to Golden, Colo., this week and begin the tournament on Saturday. More information regarding game times, tournament information and ticket prices will be available on www.tarletonsports.com.

The Coach Lonn Reisman Radio Show at Bruner Motors is canceled this week due to the travel schedule for the NCAA tournament, but will resume when the Texans return the following week.
