STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Tarleton State University’s annual Spring Star Party set for Friday, April 8, at the school’s Hunewell Ranch observatory is canceled due to increased cloud coverage. Weather forecasters predict 50- to 60-percent cover for the evening.

Larry Barr, manager of the Tarleton planetarium and observatory, said anything more than a 30-percent cloud cover makes star gazing difficult.

The annual event will be rescheduled for the fall.
