Theatre at Tarleton Presents ‘The Reluctant Dragon’

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Theatre at Tarleton and the Young People’s Series will present the spring children’s show The Reluctant Dragon, Saturday, Feb. 4, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.

Performances are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets are $3, and all seats are general admission.

Adapted by Mary Hall Surface from the book by Kenneth Grahame, The Reluctant Dragon is a charming tale of an unlikely friendship. The village of Guildermere blames the dragon that lives nearby for their dying crops and sour milk. But this dragon is a peace-loving, poetry-spouting fellow and would much prefer a cup of tea to a battle.

The production is directed by Tommy Vest and stars Madelyn Henson as the dragon, Addy Brown as Glaston, Allie Mackey as Grimsby, Charlie Smith as St. George, Ambrosia Pierce as Darby, Piper Scoma as Woolchesters, Lily Peltz as Lady Kendal and Anna Lee Williams as Morpeth.Backstage support includes stage manager Emma Morrow, set designer Halani Harbor, lighting designer John David Dvorak, sound designer Sarah Adams, costume designer Rebecca Franko and hair/makeup designer Jakayla Daniels.
