Staying Focused From the Start
Students should adhere to the following guidelines in order to be successful in the Pre-Health program.
Helpful Hints
- Focus and keep a high GPA. Grades matter.
- Enroll in at least 15+ hours each semester.
- Stay on track with coursework. Sequencing is key.
- Take at least two lab science courses each semester.
- Get involved in curricular and co-curricular experiences.
- Ask questions about health careers; talk to your professors, mentors, and other professionals.
- Thoroughly explore the healthcare profession and make sure it is the right fit for you.
Timeline for Undergraduates
If you are serious about a career as a health professional, you should become knowledgeable in all health-related current events and issues, compile your own research, meet with your advisors regularly, and know what sets you apart from other applicants when applying to Health Professions schools.
