Welcome to Student Retention
The Department of Student Retention is committed to the success of all Tarleton Students. The office uses data and predictive analytics to organize and support student retention efforts in collaboration with university, college, school, and departmental leadership.
The retention department plans and directs communication efforts to students through a variety of virtual platforms. In addition, the office provides PSA advising, special program advising, and all EAB Navigate training for faculty, staff, and students.
Faculty/Staff: Submit a request if: 1) you would like assistance with developing, monitoring, and/or improving student retention strategies, 2) you wish to discuss an AdmitHub student communication project, or 3) you need EAB Navigate training, have questions, or want to add a new user.
EAB Navigate
The EAB Navigate system is an online tool to connect students to faculty, staff, and campus resources. Through this tool, users can raise early alerts for students, view the progress for groups of students, create a kiosk system, initiate proactive appointment campaigns, and innovatively help students graduate in a timely manner.
Program for System Admissions (PSA)
Current Tarleton PSA students must take PSA-related courses established by Texas A&M University (TAMU). A student in the PSA program would have to study at the institution’s home campus or other site at which that institution offers first-year courses. Contact the Tarleton PSA Advisor for advising and other related questions.
Tarleton Gateway to Success
Tarleton State University’s Tarleton Gateway to Success, formerly known as the Texan Summer Bridge, is an alternative admission program in which select freshmen who have met conditional admission requirements are invited to a 5-week academic and social summer experience. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, participants become eligible to enroll in classes at Tarleton State University for the incoming fall semester. Ranger to Tarleton Pathway
The Ranger to Tarleton Pathway (RTP) is a special admission program offered by Tarleton State University in conjunction with Ranger College. Students participate in this co-enrollment program by taking courses at both institutions and may solely attend Tarleton State University once certain GPA requirements are met after two or more long semesters (Fall and Spring). In addition, the program allows the students to use appropriate Tarleton course credits toward the completion of an Associate Degree at Ranger College. Oscar P Chatbot
The Oscar P chatbot appears in some of the university pages, and also functions as a text message assistant who will text students regarding events, reminders, and important information. It works by utilizing an extensive knowledge base maintained by the Department of Student Retention.
