  1. Tarleton State University (Tarleton) Office of the Registrar is the university’s designated Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) official and has the authority over the processing of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to protect the privacy of education records, as defined by FERPA, in accordance with Tarleton Rule 16.01.02.T1, Privacy – Education Records.  
  1. Access to PII and FERPA records should be restricted to only those Tarleton employees, information resources owners, custodians, third-party vendors, etc. who are authorized to process such records in accordance with federal, state, Texas A&M University System, and Tarleton rules and requirements. 
  1. Tarleton is subject to Open Records Requests per Texas Government Code Chapter 552
