Plans Shared for College of Osteopathic Medicine
Recognizing the need to expand access to quality healthcare, the university announced plans for a future College of Osteopathic Medicine. Initial steps have already begun, such as a formal feasibility study and the search for a planning dean. Overall, Texas ranks 47th in patient-physician ratio, something which Tarleton State is equipped to address.

Introducing New Initiatives
Three new initiatives were introduced. To start, the university will now cover first-attempt fees for entry-level licensure and certification exams. In celebration of 125 Years of Excellence, the 125 Guarantee will award $1,000 to students who complete their bachelor’s degree in four years after high school graduation. Additionally, starting spring 2025, full-time employees can earn a master’s degree free of tuition and fees.

Meeting Market Needs
Creating market-responsive programs is a priority, with 10 academic offerings approved in the past year and 29 more already in the planning stages. New 4+1 programs aim to streamline the pathway for students to further their education after completing their bachelor’s degree, allowing students to continue at Tarleton State and complete their master’s degree in an accelerated program.
