TBFS is in the process of having fencing installed for our long-term grazing experiment. We are having tall net fencing installed around 3 of the plots to prevent cattle and deer from grazing, and short net fencing around another 3 plots to prevent cattle grazing only; the remaining 3 plots will be set up so that cattle and deer can graze. Within each of these plots, we will have 5 replicates of 5 species of native forbs and grasses laid out in a randomized Latin square design. REU students will analyze soil samples, quantify changes in vegetative structure, and estimate arthropod, bird, and mammal abundances
