Internships
All students in the Department are required to complete at least one Experiential Learning Requirement. This requirement is most commonly satisfied with an internship. Internships are not just part-time jobs. They are designed to give students valuable work experience in their field of study and may be paid or unpaid.
There are numerous reporting requirements that must be met before, during, and after the internships. In order to receive course credit for the internship, students must enroll in WSES 4084 during the semester in which the internship is performed, most commonly summer. Students are responsible for securing their own internships, but prospective internships must be pre-approved by the Departmental internship coordinator, Dr. Hennen Cummings. For more information, contact Dr. Cummings hcummings@tarleton.edu.
An excellent resource for students seeking internships in the natural resource sciences is the Texas A&M Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Job Board.
