Study Abroad
The Department of Wildlife and Natural Resources aims to provide our students with a wide variety of opportunities to study abroad. Students are encouraged to participate in at least one study abroad experience prior to graduation in order to acquire a global perspective.
While abroad, students engage in hands-on experiences and activities. The interaction between students, professionals, and the local population is a rich way to promote the exchange of information and lifetime learning.
Study abroad programs are usually during the summer semesters, but may occasionally be available at other times. Study abroad satisfies the degree requirement for experiential learning for all majors in the department, thus substituting for an internship. In past years, our students have studied in South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Poland, Cuba, Australia, and the US Virgin Islands. Additional destinations are continually added, so ask your advisor for more details.
